Connolly’s pub is one of Ireland’s oldest licensed premises, with records dating back to 1780. It was granted its first licence in 1861 and has remained a cornerstone of Sligo’s pub culture ever since.
The pub is named after Mr. Connolly, who took over in the 1890s. Inside, many original Victorian features remain, including wood panelling, snug doors, and the iconic long bar that stretches the length of the interior.
A protected structure, the building is a cherished part of town’s architectural heritage. It continues to serve locals and visitors alike with a mix of tradition, warmth, and history.
