Johnnie Fox’s has been at Glencullen, high in the Dublin Mountains, since 1798, and is known as the highest pub in Ireland.

It began as a smallholding farm on the mountain, and the front has been collecting things ever since. The old delivery bicycle with John Fox, Auctioneer, Butcher, Undertaker painted on the board. The enamel signs for Wills’s Capstan and Gold Flake. The telephone box, the weather forecasting stone, the two dogs at the door.
The pub’s own history has Daniel O’Connell as a regular while he was living in Glencullen, and a speech given to his supporters there.
