The Diving Tower has stood on the shoreline at Salthill for generations and is one of Galway’s most recognisable landmarks. Originally built as part of the nearby bathing area, it has become closely associated with the city’s sea swimming tradition.
For decades, locals and visitors have gathered here throughout the year, whether for an early morning swim, a summer dip, or the annual Christmas Day swim. The tower and surrounding promenade have become an important part of everyday life.
Today, the Diving Tower remains a symbol of Salthill and the Bay, attracting swimmers, walkers, and visitors who come to experience one of Ireland’s best known coastal locations.
