Seapoint Swimming Cove has a long history dating back to the 19th century. It was initially a secluded spot for local swimmers but grew in popularity as Dublin’s suburbs expanded.
The opening of the Dublin and Kingstown Railway in 1834 made the cove more accessible, turning it into a popular destination for sea bathing. This increased its appeal as a leisure spot, especially in the warmer months.
By the late 19th century, it had become a well-known site for health-focused sea bathing. Today, it remains a beloved spot, blending historical charm with modern-day coastal enjoyment.
